This one is a personal favorite, I struggled with it a lot – especially the colors. But I like how the shape of the balls turned out.
I do save a lot of steps in between, because I have a big problem with killing my darlings – and each darling being an iteration of the object… meaning one object can be so many darlings. So I adopted another way – instead of killing my darlings, I label them and put them in a drawer to trick my hoarder brain into thinking that I’m gonna keep it, and I do… for a while. Eventually I run low on space or need to reorganize for some reason and then I will have much less emotional attachment to the steps it took to get from a blank background to the finished painting – and have no problem culling it. I know future me is better equipped emotionally to deal with deleting that file – so I leave it to him. But that said – I could do a little collage of each to see how it evolved, that would be neat. And yeah, I’m definitely using these entries as some weird blog post, but I don’t have high enough confidence yet that someone other than future me is going to read this anyway. So.. Hello future me! Hope you’re not doing worse than I am!
